Don Jose Stovall Sr., a cherished resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 15, 2026, at Abington Hospital. Born on January 4, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Stovall lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and community.
A service to honor the life and legacy of Don Jose Stovall Sr. will be held at the Grace Baptist Church of Germantown, located at 25 West Johnson Street, Philadelphia, PA 19144, on February 27, 2026. The viewing will commence at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 11:00 a.m., followed by a brief event from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The funeral service will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m.
Don Jose Stovall Sr. is survived by his loving wife, Dolores, who stood by his side as a steadfast companion. Together, their family has grown to include their son, Don Jose Stovall Jr., and his wife Latonya, who reside in Woodbridge, Virginia. Their blended family extends further with step-grandchildren Alaina Jones and her husband David of Richmond, Virginia, and Deven Sanabria and his wife Andriana of Jacksonville, Florida. The family is also blessed with five great-grandchildren who carry forward the legacy of Mr. Stovall’s enduring love.
His familial circle embraces his sisters Rose Bynum and Deborah Horn, both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as his brother-in-law, Reverend Albert Davis of Philadelphia. The bonds of kinship also include his sisters-in-law Carolyn Davis of Delran, New Jersey, and Valerie Totten and her husband Stephen of Escondido, California. The extended family mourns alongside numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Don Jose Stovall Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his faith and community, values that were reflected throughout his lifetime. His presence will be profoundly missed, but the memories he leaves behind continue to inspire all who knew him.
The family invites all who knew Mr. Stovall to come together in remembrance, celebrating a life well-lived and a legacy of love and dedication that will endure across generations.
